The key to the luxurious feel of the Underwearables products is focus on the cotton raw material as a natural source of rejuvenation, comfort and breathability. Our cotton is carefully sourced around the globe in order to offer you high performance and a supreme quality product experience, which is sustainable in both origins and everyday use.
The key to the luxurious feel of the Underwearables Signature Copenhagen collections is the long staple Gizacotton which is known among connoisseurs for its fine fiber quality and silky surface. The freshness of the cotton is preserved all the way during a manufacturing process completely free from formaldehyde, nickel, chlorine or the other chemicals and heavy metals normally used. The result is a pure and unique cotton product that moves you with a natural delicacy and besides its’ quality-of-life benefits, furthermore feels softer and more breathable and luxurious against the skin.
The Underwearables Copenhagen collection is made from 100% Peruvian Pima cotton. Peruvian pima cotton is the world’s finest, prized for its exceptional durability, softness and brilliant luster. With any natural fiber, the longer and smoother the filament, the softer the hand. Because of its exceptionally long, 1-3/8" staple length—ordinary cotton fibers measure between 1/2" to 3/4"—Peruvian pima cotton has unparalleled softness, is extremely durable and highly resistant to pilling. And since it’s hypoallergenic, it’s an excellent choice for people with skin sensitivities. Environmentally friendly hand-harvesting results in brilliant white fibers which dye beautifully and are free from scratchy impurities. Perfect for those who suffer from allergies or those with sensitive skin
The Underwearables Paris Collection is made from Peruvian Supima Cotton. Supima is inherently softer and more luxurious due to its extra-long staple fiber. The length of the fiber produces smoother, cleaner yarns that result in a softer fabric that resists pilling. This means that your products will feel sumptuously soft and only get softer as time passes. Supima is twice as strong as regular cotton, which makes for extraordinarily resilient products. The longer fiber resists pulling, breaking and tearing, resulting in fashion and home products that are incredibly resilient and keep their form for a longer-lasting product. Supima’s finer fibers absorb dye with a deep, long-lasting penetration. The result is a product that retains color better than regular cottons. Supima products keep their brilliance wash after wash, giving you many years of use.
The Underwearables Spring/Summer collection is made from organic cotton from India. Organic cotton farming is restorative and sustainable and is good for people and planet. While organic cotton is helping farmers in India now, as the effects from climate change become more pronounced, it is fast becoming essential. Organic farming significantly lessens the effects of climate change on farmers, allowing them to get control back from the chemical and seed multinationals. Organic farming also protects scarce natural resources. Organic cotton farmers work in harmony with their land, from sowing seeds to harvesting. Protecting the land and water ways is labour-intensive, but provides jobs for more people and protects their health in the long term. In India, organic cotton farmers grow food crops alongside their organic cotton crops, including tomatoes, aubergines and millet, providing a secondary source of income and food.
